Windows and web, with clear responsibilities
Zeta Test Management combines a powerful Windows client with a web application. The Windows client provides the broadest feature set for project administration, planning, requirements and evaluation.
The web application supports browser-based test execution and selected views. Additional web areas may be available as preview features; their scope depends on configuration, role and project access.
See the current interface coverage matrix for task-by-task details.
Collaboration, users and permissions
Zeta Test Management is designed for collaboration in software teams and IT departments. Multiple users work with shared projects, test plans and results.
Depending on the deployment model, the integrated user management can be complemented by Active Directory. Roles and permissions control which projects and areas a user can view or edit.
Database, server and deployment requirements vary by release and operating model. See the current system requirements for technical guidance.
Integrations and automation
Issue and bug tracking systems can be connected through configurable connectors. Available connector types, authentication methods and operations depend on the product version and target system; the technical documentation is therefore authoritative.
External programs can be called during a test run through the external-tools configuration and scripts. Depending on the integration, results can be returned and recorded with the test run.
The current release also includes an optional MCP server for approved read and search access. It is disabled by default and deliberately does not provide a general write or administration API.
Projects, test plans and test cases
Organize your testing work in projects, test plans and reusable test cases. Test variants represent different environments or permutations without unnecessarily duplicating the underlying test case.
Requirements can be linked to test cases. Planned test runs bring the intended tests together, while results, attachments and history remain traceable within the project.

- Track status, progress and history through views, evaluations and reports.
- Manage users, roles and project permissions; depending on deployment, also with Active Directory.
- Connect issue and bug trackers through configurable connectors.
- Integrate external programs and scripts into test workflows.
